Mahindra BE 6e review by ThatsmyEV team
Our Take
When Mahindra launched the BE 6 in February 2025, the Indian EV market needed recalibrating. The conversation had been about range and price and battery warranty: all valid, all well-addressed by Tata's lineup. What the BE 6 added was different: drama. A 0-100 km/h time of 6.7 seconds. Twenty-minute DC charging. A Qualcomm 8295 chip with 24 GB RAM in your dashboard. An AR heads-up display. AR Rahman composing the drive mode soundscapes. Brake-by-wire. A purpose-built electric platform with a 5-link rear suspension.
Battery
The BE 6 comes in two battery configurations: 59 kWh LFP across Pack ONE through Pack THREE SELECT, and 79 kWh LFP on Pack TWO 79 kWh and Pack THREE.
Charging
DC fast charging: 140 kW (59 kWh) and 175–180 kW (79 kWh). 20–80% in approximately 20 minutes on both packs. For context: Curvv EV = 40 min at 70 kW. Creta Electric = 58 min at 50 kW. Windsor EV Pro = 50 min at 60 kW. The BE 6's 20-minute window turns a DC charging stop into a fuel-station equivalent break.
Driving feel
The INGLO platform, brake-by-wire, 5-link rear independent suspension, Variable Gear Ratio steering, and RWD layout combine to produce a driving experience that is categorically different from every other EV in this price range.
Safety
BNCAP 5 stars: 31.97/32 in Adult Occupant Protection. The highest adult occupancy score achieved by any car under BNCAP testing. 45/49 in Child Occupant Protection. The INGLO platform was engineered for crash performance from inception, not retrofitted.
Interior and technology
Dual Super Screens: 31.24 cm (12.3 inches) each, across all variants. Both infotainment and digital instrument cluster are 12.3-inch screens from Pack ONE. The Curvv EV Accomplished X at ₹16.99 lakh gets a 10.25-inch infotainment. The BE 6 Pack ONE at ₹18.90 lakh gets two 12.3-inch screens as standard.

Over Pack ONE ABOVE, you gain Level 2 ADAS (AEB for pedestrians and cyclists, adaptive cruise, lane keeping, driver drowsiness detection), Harman Kardon 16-speaker Dolby Atmos audio, front fog and cornering lamps, NFC key, and front parking sensors for ₹1.40 lakh more. The audio system alone competes with ₹50 lakh European cars. For long range: Pack TWO 79 kWh at ₹23.50 lakh: 500 km real-world, 210 kW, Level 2 ADAS, full Harman audio. Pack THREE SELECT at ₹24.50 lakh adds 7 airbags, 360-degree camera, adaptive suspension, ventilated seats, PKE, and powered tailgate still 59 kWh. Pack THREE at ₹26.90 lakh is the complete car with 210 kW, 500 km, Level 2+ ADAS with 5 radars, AR HUD, LightMeUp in the Infinity Roof.
The verdict
The Mahindra BE 6 is the most technically ambitious production EV ever launched in India under ₹30 lakh. The INGLO platform, 20-minute DC charging, 31.97/32 BNCAP score, Harman Kardon Dolby Atmos audio, MAIA AI architecture, and Level 2+ ADAS on Pack THREE collectively represent a product that was not supposed to exist at this price from an Indian manufacturer.
