About VinFast
VinFast was founded in 2017 as the automotive arm of Vietnam's Vingroup. In 2022 it became the first Vietnamese carmaker to stop building fossil-fuel cars, going 100% electric globally.
VinFast India inaugurated its Thoothukudi (Tamil Nadu) plant in 2025 with an initial 50,000 units/year capacity. The VF 6 and VF 7 are the first two locally built VinFast EVs.
