Quick Summary
Porsche India launched the Cayenne Electric on 30 September 2026 at ₹1,77,27,000 and the Cayenne Turbo Electric at ₹2,27,51,000, ex-showroom.
Deliveries began in Mumbai on 30 September 2026.
Both use a 113kWh (gross) battery; Porsche claims up to 642km WLTP for the base car and up to 623km for the Turbo.
The Turbo makes up to 1,156 PS and 1,500Nm with launch control, 0 to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds; the base car makes up to 442 PS.
Porsche claims 10% to 80% in under 16 minutes at up to 400kW DC, on a charger rated that high.
Porsche India keeps selling the petrol Cayenne alongside the electric one.

Porsche Cayenne Electric launched in India at ₹1.77 crore
Porsche India launched the Cayenne Electric on 30 September 2026 at ₹1,77,27,000 ex-showroom, and the Cayenne Turbo Electric at ₹2,27,51,000. Deliveries started in Mumbai the same day. That ₹50 lakh gap buys the most powerful production Porsche ever sold here, and very little that an Indian owner will use.
Porsche first showed the car in November 2025, and our India debut report covered the build-up. This piece is about the price, and what each of the two versions actually gives you on Indian roads.
What Porsche has confirmed
Two versions, both with a 113kWh gross battery and 800-volt electrics. Porsche claims the base Cayenne Electric makes 408 PS, or 442 PS with launch control, and reaches 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds. The Turbo Electric makes 857 PS, rising to 1,156 PS with launch control, with 1,500Nm and a claimed 2.5 seconds to 100 km/h.
Porsche India head Ashutosh Dixit said at the launch that the electric Cayenne keeps the car's performance while moving it to electric power. Porsche also confirmed it will keep selling the petrol Cayenne alongside it, so this is an addition to the range rather than a replacement.

642km is a European lab figure Porsche quotes range on the WLTP cycle and has not published an Indian MIDC figure. Ambient heat, AC load and highway speeds will cut the real number. Our guide to range cycles is linked below. |
The 400kW figure needs a charger rated that high, and Porsche India has not said where Cayenne Electric owners will find one. On the 60kW chargers common on Indian highways, the car will charge like any big-battery EV. Our explainer on MIDC, WLTP, EPA and CLTC range cycles explains why a WLTP number cannot be read as an Indian one.

Price and rivals
At ₹1.77 crore, the base car sits in the top tier of electric SUVs sold in India, where buyers are paying for the badge, the cabin and service reach as much as for range. You can see what else is on sale at this money on our electric cars by price page, and set any two side by side in the ThatsMyEV comparison tool.
The rival worth watching is one that is not on sale yet. BYD's luxury brand Denza confirmed its India entry on 2 October 2026, and its Z9 GT quotes the same 1,156 PS as the Cayenne Turbo Electric. Our Denza India explainer sets out what that car costs in China and Europe, and what India's duty would add.
Who should buy it
The base Cayenne Electric is the one we would look at. It gets the same battery, the same charging hardware, and slightly more claimed range than the Turbo, for ₹50,24,000 less on Porsche's own price list. The Turbo's extra 714 PS is usable for a few seconds at a time on an Indian road, and nowhere else.
The ThatsMyEV Take
Porsche is hedging, and saying so. The electric Cayenne arrives beside the petrol one rather than instead of it, which tells you Porsche India expects many buyers to stay with petrol for some time. The base price is set to keep that choice open, not to force it.
What decides whether it works is charging, not power. A car that can take 400kW is wasted on a network that offers a fraction of that, and Porsche has not published a charging plan for its Indian owners. Home charging covers most of this buyer's driving; long trips are where the gap will show.
Our advice, as of 3 October 2026: if you are buying a Cayenne and can charge at home, buy the base Cayenne Electric, not the Turbo, and ask the dealer in writing which charging support Porsche India includes. If you cannot charge at home, buy the petrol Cayenne and revisit in two years.
